Golden Gate Bridge

The Golden Gate Bridge is from San Francisco to Marin County, both in california. The total lenght of it is 2,7 km and the height is 277 m. It's made of steel and was opened at may 27, 1937. The designers are Joseph Strauss, Irving Morrow and Charles Ellis. Originally, the bridge was supposed to be grey, the orange color is just preservative. The population of San Francisco liked it very much, so decided Joseph to leave it orange. During building the bridge, there was a large web to catch workers if they fall. The total number of deaths while working is eleven. The construction began at the fifth January 1933 and ended at the nineteenth April 1937. The bridge is also used for suicide.
